Accessibility
Many people who use bloomnow already carry a lot of sensory input in everyday life. That's why this website should be calm, easy to read and usable for everyone. Here's what we do for that and where we're not finished yet.
What we do
Easy-to-read font
The text is set in Lexend, a font developed for fluent reading. Nothing you're meant to read is smaller than 14 pixels.
No sound without you
Music only plays if you switch it on at the top in the header.
Less motion on request
If “Reduce motion” is set on your device, drawings, videos and the voices stay still.
Nothing pops up unasked
bloomie only speaks up when you tap her.
Video to read
Anna Christine's video has subtitles, and the full text is written out below it.
Images with descriptions
Drawings and app screens carry a description for screen readers.
Where we're not finished yet
A full test with keyboard and screen reader is still to come. Until then, there may be places that don't work well.
In the app
The app has three colour modes: Light, Dark and Low-stimulus. Low-stimulus mode tones down colour and contrast.
